The founder of the Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Evangelist Mike Bamiloye, has said many ladies are not prepared enough to be housewives even at 28.

He said many ladies nowadays prepare more for the wedding day, than for the marriage life.

The Gospel filmmaker stated this recently in a lengthy Instagram post.

The clergyman said, They [some ladies] are too hasty and not ready to sit down and learn the principles of marital life.

Many ladies are not qualified to be wives even at 28.

They can’t cook properly. They are used to fast food at the eateries and ice cream and indomie and spaghetti plus boiled eggs and Titus, and they spend six months studying the wedding gowns and the accessories for the bridal trails. And they want to marry.

He said his sister is 26, but she is still not yet a wife material.

He admitted that she is beautiful but can’t cook, not spiritually strong and has shallow knowledge of the word of God.

The cleric wondered how such a lady could withstand the spiritual challenges that come against every home.

Bamiloye said his sister is too materialistic and lacks knowledge of home management.

He recalled that one of his sister’s friends got married and bought a book of cookery when she was going to her husband’s house.

Midway into the concert, the singer was attacked by an aggressive attendee who forced his way through the mammoth crowd to the stage.

In a video making the rounds on social media, the attacker could be seen pointing at the singer, who appeared ready to defend himself.

He appreciated his fans for their concerns.

He wrote, I have been seeing all the tags after the AMVCA nomination announcement. It would be nonchalant not to appreciate the love, calls and messages. Thank you kindred.

While the director of the Zulu-themed video, Dammy Twitch was lauded for his artistic prowess, the video has been widely criticized for introducing Davido as the King of Afrobeat.

In the opening moments of the video, a female voice could be heard saying (in a mix of isiZulu and English), Greetings. You are listening to Timeless FM. After a long time of wondering, where is he? And what is he doing? I’m here to confirm that the King of Afrobeat is back baby!

I’m talking about Davido. He’s back with a brand new album. And I’m talking hit after hit. Thank you Davido. Thank you.

Afrobeat vs Afrobeats

The terms afrobeat and afrobeats have long been conflated. While they may appear similar both in writing and pronunciation, they are two distinct genres.

According to Wikipedia, afrobeat (without an “s”) is a West African music genre that involves the fusion of traditional musical styles such as fuji, folk, highlife and American funk, jazz, and soul influences, with a focus on chanted vocals, complex intersecting rhythms, and percussion.

Afrobeats on the other hand is less of a style per se, and more of an umbrella term to describe popular music from West Africa and the diaspora that takes in diverse influences and is an eclectic combination of genres such as hip hop, house, jùjú, afrobeat, R&B, highlife and soca.

The National Association of Emerging Artists (NAEA) has expressed displeasure with the promoters of the ‘Gangs of Lagos’ movie.

NAEA said it was disappointed with the portrayal of artists as “criminals” by the producer and director Kemi Akindoju and Jade Osiberu.

The group made this known in a statement recently released by its spokesperson, Unadey Jones.

The statement partly read, “Casting artists as criminals have harmed the pop cultural fabric of Nigeria and upholded harmful musician stereotypes.

The director cast singers Chike, Pasuma, and Zlatan Ibile in gangster roles in the movie.

Chike, particularly, played the role of Ify, aka Panamo, a rising artist who was involved in gangsterism and was eventually killed by his gang members to cover up a secret.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Government has also described ‘Gangs of Lagos’ movie as a cultural misrepresentation.

The State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, frowned at the promoters of the movie for depicting the Eyo Masquerade as a gun-wielding villain while adorning the full traditional regalia.

Earlier, the Prince Uthman Shodipe-Dosunmu, the Apesinọla Ẹyọ Ọba Alakẹtẹ Pupa Ọkalaba Ẹkun, a cultural group, ordered the promoters of ‘Gangs of Lagos’ to withdraw the movie immediately, describing it as ethnic profiling, sacrilegious and outrageous trash.
