Famous Nigerian afrobeats singer David Adeleke, professionally known by his stage name Davido, is celebrating 12 years of releasing his first debut song, Back When.

Recall that the hit song Back When, which featured Naeto C, marked his breakthrough in the entertainment industry.

It’s been 12 years since he released the song.

 

Expressing gratitude to God for the 12-year journey, Davido, in a post shared on his Twitter handle, described himself as God’s child.

He wrote, 12 years ago today I dropped my first single. God’s child.

Popular American rapper, Aubrey Drake Graham, AKA Drake has claimed he may be Nigerian following the outcome of a recent ancestry test by his family.

Drake, an American music star, is estimated to have a net worth of $250 million and reportedly receives $70 million yearly, as returns.

Sharing his Dad’s ancestry results on social media, Drake revealed he is 30% Nigerian.

 

He made the disclosure on Sunday in a post on his Instagram page.

He wrote, This is my dad’s results, does this mean I’m a Naija man finally?.

Drake is not the first foreign superstar to claim Nigerian roots. Beyoncé, SZA, Diddy and a host of others have claimed their ancestors were from Nigeria in the past.

Last year, Rihanna claimed her ancestors were Igbo. She later explained that she didn’t mention Nigeria because the country was nonexistent at the time her ancestors left the shores of Igboland.

However, his recent revelation has stirred reactions from his Nigerian fans:

Curvy Nigerian socialite, Roman Goddess, has revealed that her physical endowments have afforded her a lot of great opportunities.

She explained that she had to opt for liposuction to enhance her body.

She said she does not regret undergoing surgeries to enhance her beauty, adding that her bodily endowment has opened a lot of doors for her.

 

The social media influencer disclosed this in a recent interview with Pulse Nigeria.

 

Roman Goddess said, My body has opened a lot of doors for me. Big big doors. I love it, I love what I did [surgeries]. No regret.

Award-winning Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage is billed to perform at the historical coronation of the British monarch, King Charles III.

King Charles III, who is ascending the throne following the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, last year, will officially be coronated alongside Queen Consort, Camilla, on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Westminster Abbey.

The coronation concert and Big Lunch will take place on Sunday, May 7, 2023.

A road accident at Irepeni village along Zariagi-Okene road in Kogi State claimed two lives and left 12 others with serious injuries.

The accident, which occurred on Sunday, involved a Toyota Hiace bus conveying 18 persons and a driver.

The Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mr Stephen Dawulung, who confirmed this, in a statement on Sunday, said the accident which happened at 3:30 am, on Sunday, was caused by overspeeding.
The vehicle reportedly somersaulted several times after one of its tyres burst.

 

According to him, the injured victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, while relatives of the deceased had already claimed the corpses for burial.

 

He confirmed, The injured have already been conveyed to Kekere Hospital, Kabba Junction, Zariagi, by our personnel who carried out the rescue operation.

The sector commander sympathized with the families of the victims and urged drivers to avoid night journeys, speed, and use of worn-out or expired tyres, just as he also charged motorists to always observe 40 minutes rest after every four hours drive, to ward off fatigue and drowsiness.

Dawulung thanked the military for the security cover provided to FRSC personnel that conducted the rescue operation, even as he solicited more synergy with all security agencies to save lives on highways.

Revealing this in a viral video interview on social media, Davido described himself as a very likeable and social person, and this aided in increasing the number of his followers.
Davido, who has 26.9 million followers on Instagram and 13.4 million on Twitter, explained that he invests quality time in social media.

Famous self-acclaimed relationship expert, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has revealed she is single and ready to start dating again.

Recall that the Lagos State Federal High Court had in March remanded Blessing CEO over her involvement in Lagos celebrity auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, better called IVD, and his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna’s case.

Popular singer and half of P-Square music duo, Peter Okoye, aka Mr P, has revealed the role he played in Grammy-award-winning superstar, Wizkid’s days of little beginning.

He said he had high hopes for Wizkid during his early days as an up-and-coming artist when he was signed to Banky W’s EME Records.

Mr P appeared on the latest episode of The 77 Podcast alongside his partner, Paul.

 

He recalled how he tackled some reporters from snubbing Wizkid when the ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner came to perform at one of their concerts as an opening artist years ago.

He said he told the reporters that Wizkid was going to dominate the music industry in the near future.

Mr P said, We [P-Square] were never the type of artist that looked down on anybody. If you remember, there was a video that went viral where it was P-Square concert and Wizkid was opening for us. So, they [reporters] kept on interviewing only P-Square and we were like, okay, guys, hold on. What about him? They said… I said no, this guy is going to take over tomorrow.

Wizkid is currently the most streamed African artist on Spotify, with over four billion streams. His song ‘Essence’, which featured Tems, is the longest-charting Nigerian song on the US Billboard Hot 100.

 

Days after the 2023 general elections, insecurity in Rivers State appears to be on the rise.

Within one week, several persons have been reported missing in the State.

The worst hit locations are Igwuruta, Eneka, Nkpor in Rumuolumeni and Mile 3, Diobu axis of Port Harcourt.

 

About 7 days ago, one Chukwuebuka Julius was reported missing in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of the state. His whereabouts remain unknown.

Similarly, one 25-year-old Chukwuebuka, who is into interior decoration and furniture, was reported to have left his home at Rumuolumeni community in Obio-Akpor area last Tuesday to Wimpy in Port Harcourt for a job.

The elder brother to the missing young man, Ejike Julius in an interview with DAILY POST disclosed that his brother’s colleague told him that Chukwuebuka received a phone call to come for a job estimation in Choba but never returned.

My mum and my sisters were calling me saying that they’ve not seen Ebuka since Tuesday and his line was not connecting.

On Friday, I had to invite the apprentice that worked with him to my mum’s place to question him about my brother’s whereabouts.

He said he was at home when Ebuka called him to meet him where they are working at Wimpy.

He said Ebuka told him he was going to Choba to take measurements, but he was uncertain if he used public transportation or used a bolt.

We have reported his disappearance to the police.

He said, It’s been about seven days now since he went missing.

On his part, Prestige Ikechi, who is the boss to the missing Chukwuebuka Julius, also spoke on his inability to reach out to his apprentice.

I travelled and i communicated with him earlier on Monday.

I got back Wednesday morning; I saw his mother at my gate, she was crying that she cannot find Ebuka.

So, I told her that maybe he went for a job and was unable to come back.

That Wednesday, we were calling his phone but he wasn’t picking, until in the evening, the phone stopped ringing.

He disclosed, On Wednesday, we reported to the local police around here.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Rivers State Police command, Grace Iringe-Koko when contacted, assured that once the incidents were properly reported to the police, adequate action would be taken.

Tno ransom demand has been placed on any of the missing persons as of the time of filing this report.
