I had the honour and privilege of being part of a delegation of prominent and distinguished Nigerians and friends of the Russian Federation to the Russian Embassy in Abuja today to offer our condolences and express our solidarity with President Vladimir Putin and the Russian people for the horrific and barbaric terror attack that took place in Moscow a few days ago.
On the delegation were Professor Isa Pantami, the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Senator Mohammed Hassan, Senator Bashir Lado, Hon. Aliyu Farouk, and Dr. Joseph Onoh.
We were warmly received by the Russian Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Alexey Leonidovitch Shebarshin, and his team, and we were inspired and encouraged by the courage, resilience, and strength that they displayed despite the circumstances of our visit and the horror that their people had been subjected to during the attack.
May God continue to be with the people of Russia; may He grant them victory against their adversaries; and may He protect them from evil and bloodthirsty men.
