MERRY CHRISTMAS! Super Eagles, Falcons, Musa, Kanu spread festive love

NIGERIA’S two senior national teams, the Super Eagles and the Super Falcons, as well as legendary football figures Ahmed Musa and Nwankwo Kanu have sent Christmas messages to Nigerians.

The Super Eagles, who will be involved in the hunt for glory in January and February at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, shared a short festive message overnight.

“Merry Christmas from us all #soarsupereagles #letsdoitagain #christmas,” the three-time African champions wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Super Falcons, who are the most successful side on the continent with nine Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles, posted their good wish today and added a prayer.

“Wishing all the amazing fans of the Super Falcons a Merry Christmas! May the festive season bring joy, success, and continued support for our incredible team. #MerryChristmas #SoarSuperFalcons,” they posted.

Super Eagles captain and the team’s most capped player of all time with 108 appearances, Musa, wrote: “Compliments of the season. This festive season, I pray that you experience true joy and peace and may things of celebration never cease from your household. Merry Christmas to you all.”

Kanu, one of the most decorated African players in history with an U-17 world title and Olympic gold as well as European and domestic titles in club football in the Netherlands and England with Ajax and Arsenal, also shared glad tidings.

“MERRY CHRISTMAS. May God protect and bless us and continue to be with us  I thank God,” the current Chairman of Enyimba wrote today.
