Kayode Ajulo, lawyer, politician and Civil rights activist is of the opinion that some states need that "declaration of emergency rule."
Ajulo made this know on Saturday as guest on CityTalks with Reuben Abati.
The Proposed state of emergency rule by the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami have being criticized by the Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano and the Ohaneze Ndigbo.
Their arguments were referenced to the killings in Borno, Yobe, Plateau, Benue, Katsina, Niger and even in Kaduna State and yet elections were held in all those states and nobody contemplated a state of emergency in those states.
According to Ajulo’s views, “I’m sure that the legality of it is not the issue, What I think that everybody is concerned is the policalization of the issue of the state of emergency.
“The truth must be told, whether we like it or not, Nigeria is at war particularly some part of the nation is at war and declaring a state of emergency is very parity.”
The civil activist added, “I sympathize with them and I appreciate their sentiments particularly in the sense that Anambra state is not the only state in the federation where we are having insecurity challenges, the question today is that why should it be Anambra?”

Pasto Ituah Ighodalo, Senoir Pastor of the Trinity House Church, is of the opinion that what Nigerian’s need is a good and competent President.
The clergyman as guest on City Talks with Reuben Abati is that talking about rotational Presidency, we are talking about dividing the pie and not making a bigger pie.
Zoning and rotational presidency has been on the front burner ahead of the 2023 election.
Some have argued that the presidency should be rotated between the North and the South
And some other people have questioned the legality of zoning.
According to their substantive argument, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has no room for zoning or “rotational presidency”. What it provides for in Section 14 (3) is the necessity to reflect Nigeria’s federal character in the composition of the government and its agencies. The aim of the federal character clause, as underscored in Section 14 (2) (c), is to ensure the participation of the people in their government.
Pastor Ighodalo stated that it doesn’t matter to him, where the gentleman or lady comes from, as long as they are competent; they are welcome.
He mentioned that “It is an unfortunate reality where some sections of Nigerians for whatever fear or anxiety or whatever the British may have instilled into their minds, feel that except they are in certain key positions they will not be reassured that they have a stake in Nigeria or they feel they may be marginalized.
“Nobody should feel that way and if any President no matter where he is coming from, marginalizes any part of Nigeria or any person in Nigeria, then that person is not fit for purpose. We should be looking for person that is fit for purpose.”
He blamed the root cause of agitation on competence.
According to him, “Nigerians are feeling a little bit agitated that the Fulani wants to dominate almost everything.
“But the truth of it is that, if the northerners or Fulani have shown competence, and a lot of equity in the distribution of things, and not seem to have shown themselves as wanting to favour a group over the other, nobody will be complaining.
“If most of the appointments they have made had been based on competence and not necessarily parochialism or showing preferences here and there nobody will complain, but it is clear that most of the appointments that have come through; have not really being based on competence.”

Why would anybody use Femi Fani-Kayode as a compass for their own political position? – Dele Farotimi
AdminThe defection of the former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has stirred reactions from the public and even from members of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
According to a statement by the Director-General of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Dr Salihu Moh Lukman disclosed that party members are angry with the red-carpet reception President Muhammadu Buhari gave to the former Minister when he defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC last week.
Dele Farotimi as a guest on CityTalks with Reuben Abati, in his reaction about Fani-Kayode’s defection;
He asked,” Why would anybody use Femi Fani-Kayode as a compass for their own political position?”
According to him, people cross-carpeting from one party to another is normal to him because politics in Nigerian is slave trading.
He said, “When I say do not die in their war, it is because I can see that there is no division among the political class.
“There are no ideological or religious division among the ruling class, both economic and political ruling class.
“What you find is that they have become so syncretic that they have become one and when you hear them shouting or seemingly fighting, it is not really an argument that is based on any idea, or anything substantive.
“It is about how the loot which Nigerian common wealth have become.
“How the loot is shared at any point in time.
He added, “But I saw Nigerian repeatedly allowing themselves to be dragged into fighting theselves, hating themselves, killing themselves, justifying the hatred sometimes in the name of God’ on behalf of person who are not interested in anything that has to do with their welfare.”
Farotimi is of the opinion that Fani-Kayode has acted the pedigree suggested by the man who brought him to national prominence stated years ago.
He said, the recommendation offered by Obasanjo said, “give him (Fani-Kayode) food, he will sing for and dance for you”
I Farotimi’s opinion, Fani-Kayode is of no electoral value and he is not a man any rational being should follow in any shape or form.
“When you see movement, it is obvious that electoral seasons are upon us.
“The political class are making calculations, and the people in power are consolidating,” he said.
He added, “It is nothing to be surprised at, it is just for us to understand that there are no divisions among our political class.”

Human rights activist and lawyer, Reno Omokri, has recently posed a thought-provoking query regarding the actions taken by the current administration against Sunday Igboho.
Reno Omokri, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics and author, recently made a statement during his appearance as a guest on the popular radio show "CityTalks with Reuben Abati" on City 105.1.
In a recent development, the residence of renowned Yoruba human rights activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, widely recognised as Sunday Igboho, was reportedly subjected to an invasion last Thursday. The incident took place in the Soka area of Ibadan, located in Oyo State. The Department of State Service (DSS) and Military Personnel were said to be responsible for this operation.
In a prelude to the highly anticipated "Yoruba rally" organised by Igboho, a shocking incident unfolded just two days prior in Lagos.
In a series of unfortunate events, the latest attack on Igboho and his Ibadan residence adds to the growing list of reported assaults since January 2021. It was during this time that Igboho boldly issued a seven-day ultimatum to killer herders in the Ibarapa area of Oyo State, setting off a chain of violent incidents.
In response to the recent events surrounding Igboho, Omokiri has expressed his belief that Igboho has not engaged in any criminal activities.
In a compelling display of legal acumen, he skillfully invoked both Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and the Nigerian Constitution to fortify his stance.
In a recent statement, he asserted that the act of Igboho advocating for a Yoruba Nation cannot be deemed illegal. Drawing a parallel, he referred to a faction of individuals residing in both the United States and the United Kingdom who have been fervently demanding the establishment of an independent state for themselves.
In the United States, there is a growing movement among Native Americans advocating for the establishment of autonomous states.
In the United Kingdom, a significant segment of the population, namely the Scottish people, has been fervently advocating for the establishment of an independent state exclusively for themselves. This desire has materialised in the form of a political organisation known as the Scottish National Party (SNP). In a recent statement, Omokri emphasised that the primary focus of their efforts has been the establishment of an autonomous Scottish republic. Notably, no actions have been taken against them, and their leaders have remained free from any arrests or detentions.
Omokri emphasised that the rally organised by Igboho is not intended to incite violence.
He asserted that the Nigerian Constitution unequivocally upholds the fundamental right to freedom of association.
It was emphasised by the speaker that Igboho has not made any illegal utterances.
In a scathing critique, the human rights activist expressed strong condemnation towards the approach employed by the Department of State Services (DSS) in their dealings with Igboho.
It has come to light that a certain minister, Isa Pantami, made a disturbing statement on video. According to reports, he expressed his satisfaction when non-Muslims and unbelievers meet a tragic fate.
The individual in question holds the position of a minister, yet no actions have been taken against him.
Islamic cleric, Sheikh Gumi, recently engaged in a high-profile meeting with bandits, during which he allegedly made inflammatory remarks. According to reports, Sheikh Gumi purportedly conveyed to the bandits that the soldiers responsible for their demise were predominantly of the Christian faith. This statement has raised concerns as it potentially incites animosity towards Christian soldiers who valiantly defend our nation, risking their lives in the treacherous forest terrain.
In a surprising turn of events, it has come to light that the individual in question has not received an invitation from the Department of State Services (DSS), nor has he been subjected to any form of arrest.
According to Omokri, the individual in question has allegedly engaged in a clear act of criminality. By inciting and instigating criminal elements against the State, Omokri asserts that this individual has committed an act of treason, which involves providing aid and comfort to the enemy. Notably, it appears that this individual has not received an invitation pertaining to the matter at hand.
In a staunch defence of his actions, he asserted that Igboho, a prominent figure, is steadfastly protecting his people, citing the United Nations Charter and the Nigerian Constitution as his legal basis. According to him, the Department of State Services (DSS) allegedly violated his premises by carrying out an invasion.
Renowned political activist and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has offered advice to Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, regarding his recent invitation by the Department of State Services (DSS). In a statement, Omokri urged Igboho to heed the invitation and attend the meeting accompanied by a large gathering of his supporters. According to Omokri, the presence of a crowd would serve as a protective shield, ensuring Igboho's safety.

#OccupyLekki: My own intention is to lead a scientific protest at the Lekki toll gate – Dele Farotimi
AdminLawyer and political activist, Dele Farotimi, claims that his aim was to organise a well-planned and calculated demonstration at the Lekki toll gate.
The decision made by Justice Doris Okwuobi's panel regarding the Lekki Toll Gate has become the focal point of the #OccupyLekki demonstration.
In an exclusive interview with Reuben Abati on City Talks, which was closely monitored by Abati Media on February 13, 2021, Farotimi made a bold statement. He expressed his intention to bring the operation of the Lekki toll gate to a complete standstill when they attempt to resume operations.
As per his statement, it appears that the plan is to drive the cars up to the toll gate and park them there on a daily basis. This action is expected to result in their arrest, but it seems to be a deliberate move to disrupt operations at the toll gate.
According to the source, they had meticulously planned to prevent the toll gate from starting operations by investing a significant amount of time in precision every day.
According to Farotimi, the toll gate appears to exclusively benefit private individuals, potentially leading to their enrichment.
According to the Advocate and Solicitor, there seems to be a sense of discontent among the residents of Lekki who are paying tolls. The reason behind this discontentment, as stated by the Advocate and Solicitor, is not because these individuals are wealthy, but rather due to other underlying factors that warrant further investigation.
He declared, "We will reveal the identities of those involved when the appropriate moment arrives."
Farotimi claims that the residents of Lekki are well aware of the malevolent forces at play and have made a collective decision to protest against the reopening of the toll gate.
According to the individual, they were able to drive without experiencing the usual frustrating traffic congestion that plagues their daily commute.
The claim made is that Lateef Kayode Jankande constructed roads over three decades ago that have never been subjected to tolling. It appears that a group of individuals who have recently taken positions within the government are pushing for the implementation of tolls on a particular matter. The matter in question has been in existence for 21 years and has not previously been subject to tolls. Further investigation is needed to determine the motivations behind this push for tolls.
Farotimi has made a statement regarding the reopening of the Lekki Toll Gate, stating that there will be resistance.
