Twitter removes ex-VP Osinbajo’s verification tag

A popular microblogging platform, Twitter, has removed the verification tag attached to the account of former Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.

Although Twitter has not disclosed the motive behind the removal of the tag, DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that the tags are mostly placed on real accounts of officials of the government against impersonation.

Recall that the duo of Messrs Osinbajo and former President Muhammadu Buhari have since handed over the mantle of leadership to President Bola Tinubu and his deputy Kashim Shettima on Monday, May 29.

However, checks by our correspondent revealed that at press time, the verification tag remained intact on the account of former President Buhari.
