Tiwa Savage, the award-winning songstress, has addressed claims that she does not support her colleagues in the music industry.

Over the years, there have been some speculations about the female musicians in the industry not assisting or partnering together on projects.

But in a post via her Instagram story, Tiwa shared a screenshot of a comment made by a fan after she and Simi announced that they would be releasing a song together.

The user argued that there have been many collaborations among female entertainers, but the songs have always gotten low streams.

“So Tiwa has obviously collaborated with more female artistes but they don’t stream female artistes collaborations and they want em collabo,” the user wrote.

The ‘Koroba’ singer, while agreeing with the user, also emphasised that she has had “a lot of collaborations with female artistes”.

“But they always want to say Tiwa Savage does not like or support female artistes. Please who has more female collabs and there is sooo many more not even listed here. Y’all miss me with that bull sh$t narrative, I dey hustle money on my mind,” she wrote.

Savage has collaborated with Waje on ‘Onye’ (2014), Ayra Starr on ‘Stamina’ (2023), and Di’Ja on ‘The Way You Are’ (2018).

The songstress has established herself as one of the prominent names in the music landscape.

Her music has gained positive reception globally. She has also won numerous awards.

Yekini Nabena, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress has made a boast.

He boasted that if former President Muhammadu Buhari could complete his 8-year term in office, no merger plot will unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

There have been talks of a merger and mega party among the opposition parties and some prominent members of the APC lately.

Reacting to the development through a statement he signed on Tuesday in Abuja, Nabena also declared that no political coup in the National Assembly will remove the incumbent President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

He said the South and the North must support President Bola Tinubu to succeed in his Renewed Hope Agenda because the country belongs to all of us and Nigeria is one, not only on paper or mouth but in reality.

Nabena noted: “If former President Muhammadu Buhari could complete his eight years in office, by the grace of God Almighty the incumbent President Bola Tinubu will do the same, not even the talk of mega party or merger can stop him. The South must also complete the 8-year political arrangement and President Bola Tinubu will do that for the South.

“The South will not fight each other again for other regions to benefit, the era of division in the Southen Nigeria is gone for good. The Almighty God will perfect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s health and grant him wisdom to take the country to the promised land.

“The 2027 presidential election will come and go but the President will remain in the South and President Bola Tinubu, by God’s grace, will continue his good job.

“The same goes to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, by God’s grace, he will also complete his term as the Chairman of the National Assembly in grand style, no threat, no blackmail or political machination will do otherwise.”

Nabena stressed that Nigerians from the South are satisfied with the level of representation they are getting from their representatives in the National Assembly and, therefore passed a vote of confidence on them for standing tall.

Former Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, has taken to his 'X' page to query Bayo Onanuga, Reno Omokri, Daniel Bwala and Bashir Ahmad for always launching attacks against the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi.

In a post, Dalung asked if Peter Obi was only one who challenged Tinubu in the 2023 elections.

He queried if there was something that they were trying to cover up with the frequent attacks.

He wrote;

‘’I have been praying to God to reveal to me why @aonanuga1956, @renoomokri, @BwalaDaniel, @BashirAhmaad only chose to attack @PeterObi, was he the only person who challenged @officialABAT in the 2023 elections? Or is there something they are trying to cover up? Something is amiss''

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed that it has uncovered over 1,665 fake A’level results during the 2023 Direct Entry (DE) registration exercise.

The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed the alarming figure when he received the leadership of the National Association of Nigeria Colleges of Education Students (NANCES) in his office in Bwari, Abuja.

He said the A’level results verification regime was occasioned by the endemic corruption associated with the admission system and was intended to restore the integrity of the admission process.

Prof. Oloyede also revealed that out of the figure, 397 were from Colleges of Education, 453 were University diplomas, and the rest were other A’level certificates.

He pointed out that it should be of grave concern if no one respects the certificate one is holding, hence, there was the need to safeguard the integrity of A’level certificates that are used to secure admission through measures that would stand the test of time.

In its weekly bulletin released on Tuesday, the registrar recalled that in the past, when a candidate applied for DE, the Board would simply ask awarding institutions to do the necessary screening and due diligence.

He stated that JAMB was dumbfounded by the startling revelations from Bayero University, Kano (BUK), whereby out of the 148 Direct Entry applications to the institution, only six of the certificates forwarded for processing were genuine.

The Registrar added that it was the discovery of the monumental fraud that prompted the meeting of critical stakeholders, who met to chart ways of combating the menace.

Part of the measures suggested, he said, was the constitution of an A’level result verification task force as well as the creation of a common platform for the verification of A’level results and certificates. He said the platform is reliable and user-friendly, as it only takes five minutes to verify any certificate.

Oloyede further disclosed that, to underscore the importance attached to the exercise, the Board has put in place a “no verification, no admission” policy.

While listing 15 institutions that have not sufficiently complied with verification requests from the Board, he stated that the affected institutions, with more than 20 unverified candidates, would have to pre-verify candidates applying for admission with their certificates before the candidates can complete their DE registration process.

Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu stated this on Sunday while speaking with the press following a gathering with various All Progressives Congress, APC, members at the Oyo State party headquarters in Oke-Ado, Ibadan.

He assured that the government of President Bola Tinubu is ready and determined to change the face of things in the power sector and “to change the game in the power sector.”

“This is why we are addressing the root cause of the power sector problems.

“We are addressing all the problems associated with all the segments of the power sector value chain – from gas supply to generation, to transmission, to distribution and to the customers themselves. There are a lot of things that we are doing that Nigerians will soon start seeing.

“Yes, there are pockets of improvements here and there, but that is not where we are going. We are still going to Eldorado whereby every Nigerian will be able to enjoy adequate, stable, functional and reliable power supply.

“But let me tell you that it is a journey and not a destination. We will start seeing this improvement as we are seeing now to improve. This is because when you are repairing, you will still suffer some damages, you will still suffer some pains.

“When they were repairing the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway for 10 years, people were having traffic jam and getting held up in serious traffic until they finished the road.

“So, while we are repairing, people must help us to bear the little pains that will come with it. But at the end of the day, we will make gains. For you to make an omelet, you must break eggs. This is the period of breaking the eggs. Very soon, we will start eating our omelet.

“I am determined to solve the problems in the power sector and Nigerians will start singing our good songs very soon,” he said.

A 12-year-old pupil opened fire Tuesday at a primary school in Vantaa outside the Finnish capital, Helsinki.

Preliminary reports from the police disclosed that three persons were wounded, and the attacker was in custody.

“All those involved in the shooting incident are minors. According to the Police’s information, there are three injured,” a police statement said.

The school has 800 students and 90 staff.

Children were told to stay in their classrooms after the attack, public broadcaster YLE reported.

Like other Finnish schools, children had just returned to classes in Vantaa, north of Helsinki, after the long Easter weekend.

Prime Minister Petteri Orpo described the shooting as profoundly upsetting and said his thoughts were with the victims and their families, as well as everyone at the school.

Recall that in 2007, an 18-year-old student shot dead seven pupils and his head teacher in the town of Tuusula.

Joseph Aloba, the father of late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, has once again spoken about the paternity of his grandson Liam Aloba.
Aloba explained that he is insisting his daughter-in-law, Wunmi, conduct a DNA test on Mohbad’s son because of Nigerians.

Aloba stated that he does not doubt that Liam is his grandson.

Speaking via an audio message making the rounds on social media, Mohbad’s father maintained that it was important for Wunmi to do the DNA test to satisfy the curiosity of concerned Nigerians.

He said, “I know Liam is my grandson, I don’t doubt it but Wunmi should do the DNA for Nigerians.”

Meanwhile, Aloba has publicly shared the deep emotional connection he had with his son, including wearing his clothes as a way to keep his memory alive.

In an interview with blogger Kachiwire, he reminisced about the bond they shared, highlighting their friendship and commonalities.

Mohbad’s untimely death on September 12, 2023, led to widespread speculation and accusations, particularly targeting figures associated with his former label, Marlian Records, including its head Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and associate Sam Larry.

Both denied any involvement in his death and were subsequently arrested and released on bail.

Attention then shifted to a nurse alleged to have administered fatal injections to Mohbad, positioning her as the prime suspect.

Amidst the growing demand for clarity on the singer’s death, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, mandated a comprehensive forensic examination.

The Lagos State Police Command, following this order, assembled a specialized team, including a pathologist, to exhume and analyze Mohbad’s remains.

In a recent development, the Lagos Coroner Court revealed ongoing autopsy processes, with significant tests being conducted abroad.

State counsel O. Akinde, speaking at the Coroner’s Court in Ita-Elewa, Ikorodu, disclosed that while the external examination of the body is complete, the crucial toxicology analysis is underway in the United States, aiming to determine the internal factors contributing to the young artist’s death.

Speaking during the now viral interview, Aloba said he wears his son’s clothes because “we are the same size.”

He said, “He is my son. I can wear his clothes. We are the same size. And anybody that has that kind of a son and cannot share with, that means that person does not love his son. So we are together.

“I could remember the day they wanted to go and do the introduction that led to his engagement. He bought me shoes and he said ‘Daddy this is what you are going to wear’ I said these shoes were bigger than mine and that I did not want this kind of bourgeois, he said ‘this is exactly what I want you to do.

“So, he wanted to blend in with me. He is my son and a friend to me. So my focus now is justice for Mohbad. So all those rubbish questions, I do not want to answer questions like that. He is my son. People can say whatever they like.”

Sunday Karimi, the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate has revealed that the government of President Bola Tinubu inherited the worst economic challenges in Nigeria’s history.

He made the revelation while speaking at the maiden edition of Igbaruku Day organised by the Igbaruku-Okeri Community Development Association (ICDA) in Igbaruku-Okeri, Yagba West Local Council, Kogi State, yesterday.

His words: “The administration inherited the worst economic challenges so far in the anal of the country. The President’s long-term vision, driven by proactive policy towards achieving sustainable economic recovery, is slowly yielding fruits.

“The government of President Tinubu inherited a bad, in fact the worst situation, so far. Tinubu met the average gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate of 1.8 percent. The four years average preceding the administration of Tinubu was 15.1 percent.

“Nigeria was so bad that government printed money without activities to back it up. It is still our government, the All Progressives Congress(APC). We admit that. Nigerian Naira was almost turned to paper, where one US Dollar equated to N1,900, but the Tinubu’s government is not resting on its oars.

“It is working tirelessly every day to find solutions to the problems. Today, one Dollar equals N1,300. Port Harcourt refinery is back; Warri refinery is back. With patience with President Tinubu, we will live to see the Nigeria of our dream, in the short-term.”

He, therefore, pleaded with Nigerians to exercise patience with the administration.

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has again warned President Bola Tinubu to restructure the country.

Speaking on Tuesday he advised President Bola Tinubu to start the process of restructuring because it is the ultimate answer to Nigeria’s numerous problems.

Primate Ayodele revealed that the best thing that can make Nigeria progress is restructuring.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, he said every region will become independent and reduce the burden on the Federal Government.

He said each state should be using their resources, have state establishments that can help the country grow exponentially and it is only restructuring that can make it happen.

According to Primate Ayodele: ‘’I have not seen the government planning on restructuring but it is the best thing that can make Nigeria move forward.

“Let every region stand on their own, it will make the country stronger and make every state independent.

‘’Restructuring will lift the burden from the federal government; each state should be using their resources to get better.

“We can have state police, state judiciary, state banks in restructure and this will help the economy of the country well.’’

The man of God posited that it will take a long process but called on President Tinubu to start working on it in order to secure a better future for Nigeria as it will benefit the country more.

He explained that with restructuring, there will be victory over insecurity and economic hardship.

‘’It’s going to take a long process for the government to act on restructuring, the president should start the restructuring process now to help the future of Nigeria. It is cancel hardship and economic jeopardy.

‘’Unfortunately, I have not seen the government working towards it, it’s a very serious thing they should work on because it will be of advantage to the country. It will help the country overcome insecurity of any form and promote harmony,” he said.
