Life is a mystery, which is why Madonna was spotted celebrated a Johan Djourou own goal on Tuesday night.

The world renowned singer was in attendance as Portugal beat Switzerland in their World Cup qualifier - and she got into the groove of following a football team after the opening goal.

It was a celebration that was well deserved. The accidental goal meant Portugal leapt into first in their group ahead of opponents Sweden.

Madonna has become an adopted daughter of Portugal in recent months.

The 59-year-old artist has moved to Lisbon after her son, David Banda, joined Benfica's academy. Banda was adopted from Malawi in 2006.

Madonna herself bought a house in Sintra for £7million, which she then had renovated.

Her 11-year-old spent much of the summer at Benfica's academy before starting to study at a French-language school in Lisbon.

Banda was in attendance alongside Madonna while she watched Cristiano Ronaldo's side qualify for the 2018 World cup.
