Buhari’s re-election: South-South voters ‘ll shock PDP in 2019

The Head of President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation in the South-South geo-political zone of the federation, Hon. Tare Amatare, has said that the president would win his re-election convincingly in 2019 in the zone.

The campaign manager, who described as “cosmetic” the pull-him-down syndrome by some governors of the zone, including the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa; his Rivers and Bayelsa states counterparts, Nyesom Wike and Seriake Dickson, said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), would be disappointed by the outcome of 2019 general election.

He said President Buhari’s enthronement of good governance and campaign to the creeks and all communities in the Niger Delta region had set a paradigm shift from the business as usual practice the people were used to.

Amatare, who addressed journalists in Warri yesterday, vowed to mobilise millions of votes among the Ijaw people and other ethnic nationalities in the zone to return the President to office next year through their massive votes.

He said: “The present parallel APC executives in some states only depict the beauty of democracy. It will not affect President Buhari and the APC victory in 2019 elections. We have ensured that his votes in the South-South zone will be intact. For now, he has no challenger. We are yet to see any credible Nigerian from the opposition parties to match him.”

He, however, debunked the speculation that the presidency was witch-hunting the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, with the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), explaining that the face-off between the Presidency and National Assembly was to entrench democratic tenets, and was not orchestrated to whittle down the business of law-making.

He said the killings in the northern part of Nigeria were politically motivated and not an attempt to Islamise the country, stressing that the president should not be linked to the massacre because he is Muslim.
