5.61bn litres of PMS imported into Nigeria in Q2 2019 –NBS
 

Says price of 1kg of tomatoes decreased by 39.74% in July

 

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said that petroleum products importation statistics for Q2 2019 reflected that 5.61 billion litres of premium motor spirit (PMS), 1.38 bln litres of automotive gas oil (AGO), 12.22 million litres of Household kerosene (HHK), 131.36 million litres of aviation turbine kerosene (ATK), 77.24 mln litres of base oil, 41.79 mln litres of bitumen, 27.68 million litres of low pour fuel oil (LPFO) and 354.70 million liters of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) were imported into the country.

 

State-wide distribution of truck-out volume for Q2 2019 showed that 5.18 billion of premium motor spirit (PMS), 1.28 billion litres of automotive gas oil (AGO), 131.42 million litres of household kerosene (HHK), 176.14 million litres of aviation turbine kerosene (ATK) and 157.29 million of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) were distributed nationwide during the period under review.

NBS also said that the slected food price watch data for July 2019 reflected that the average price of 1 dozen of Agric eggs medium size decreased year-on-year by -0.73 per cent and month-on month by -5.45 per cent to N468.31 in July 2019 from N495.32 in June 2019 while the average price of piece of Agric eggs medium size (price of one) decreased year-on-year by -6.88 per cent and month-on-month by -2.35 per cent to N38.38 in July 2019 from N39.31 in June 2019.

The average price of 1kg of tomato decreased year-on-year by -39.47 per cent and month-on-month by -9.96 per cent to N203.55 in July 2019 from N226.07 in June 2019.

The average price of 1kg of rice (imported high quality sold loose) decreased year-on-year by -3.96 per cent and increased month-on-month by 0.93 per cent to N356.10 in July 2019 from N352.83 in June 2019.

Similarly, the average price of 1kg of yam tuber decreased year-on-year by -39.16 per cent and month-on month by -6.21 per cent to N170.85 in July 2019 from N182.15 in June 2019.
