4 persons killed, 50 houses razed in fresh Plateau attack

50  houses have been reportedly rap by gunmen late Saturday night in Jebbu, Miango, Bassa Local Government of Plateau State.
 The  Plateau state Police Command confirmed that 4 persons were killed, while 50 homes were razed down in a renewed clash between suspected Fulani militants in Jebbu,  Miango, Bassa Local Government of the state.
The attack, according to  Police was between Irigwe youths in the Miango community and  Fulani Militia’s over an age-long land crisis in the area.
Our correspondent reports that three persons were said to have been injured in the bloody clash last night.
A resident of the community who simply gave his name as Paul said that the lash lasted for hours, at the end, four persons were shot dead, while about 100 houses were burnt down.
However, the spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, ASP. Gabriel Ubah in a statement made available to our correspondent confirmed that “On 31/07/2021, the Command received a report that there was a conflict between gunmen suspected to be Fulani Militia and youth from Irigwe at Jebbu Miango, Bassa LGA of Plateau State.
“Unfortunately, fifty houses were torched and four natives were also shot dead.
“Upon receipt of the report, the tactical team of the Command were immediately deployed to the scene to tighten the security of the area and to restore peace.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Egbuka, with other senior Officers of the Command visited the scene and has ordered a discreet investigation to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
“Normalcy has been restored in that area”, the statement further added.
