Dr. Ndidi Nwaneri is a Social Development consultant, Researcher and Public Speaker in Nigeria.
Dr Nwaneri holds the opinion that “whether at the individual, social or global level, I consider all forms of injustice as crisis that should be addressed urgently, I also believe that the greatest tool persons have to combat injustice, is their ability to think, thus my strongest passion are intellectual pursuit and social justice”
The Social development Consultant is of the view that we have a bad policy.
In her opinion, “At the policy level, we are an incompetent society, there’s another feature we have; money tends to disappear. If a snake is not swallowing it, something is happening to it.
Speaking during an interview on Saturday, City Talks with Reuben Abati, on the “Chibok Girls: 7 years after and the way forward.
She pointed out that Sambisa became a place where terrorist could hide after the Babangida administration decided to turn the game reserve in Sambisa forest to a training camp for special forces.
Dr Nwaneri said, “The project was abandoned when there was so much backlash from the society, so we had barrack that was not controlled, a space that was not controlled and was taken over by people today that we are still suffering from”
She stated that the statement from the government expressing concerns that they have not forgotten the 122 persons still in the captivity, extremely upsetting because the statement does not take into account the incompetence that has been displayed in the last 7 years.
According to her, “it sounds like the kind of ‘tried statements’ that come out of government offices and it is very insensitive.”
She raised the questions about the abduction of the Chibok girls, “how many security agencies were implicated as a result of that?
“Who are the local government Chairman of the space called Sambisa?
“How has it been managed such that all of a sudden we are shamelessly telling the world that there is a space within Nigeria?”
Nwaneri is of the view that the social impact of schools that have being shot down in Borno, Zamfara, and Niger state is going to translate to multiplied banditry in a bad educational system because people are severely damaged.
