The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Lagos, has boasted of emerging victorious in Saturday’s by-elections for Lagos East Senatorial District and Kosofe Constituency 2.
Spokesman of the party, Taofik Gani, hinged the prediction on polls reportedly conducted by an organisation that gave victory to the opposition party.
The APC has however dismissed the prediction, describing it as mere hallucination.
PDP stated that the said poll conducted by an unnamed organisation put the PDP candidates ahead, with better chances to win the by-elections than the APC candidates.
It said the poll organisation used criteria such as Eligibility; Voter’s Trust; Ability to deliver representation; internal Party democracy; loyalty to the electorate; Age; individualism; 2023 projection among others.
PDP, therefore, declared that “only manifestly fair and true results will be accepted by her agents.”
But the Lagos APC spokesman, Seye Oladejo, in a chat with Daily Trust insisted that the APC remained the party to beat, saying the fact that PDP couldn’t name the poll organisers “can best be described as the stuff of fiction and hallucination typical of an opposition party that is fast going into extinction.”
