Gunmen kidnap Woman in Delta

Unknown gunmen have reportedly abducted a businesswoman, Akpezi Okpidi, at Otovwodo, Ughelli town, in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred around 8am on Saturday while the victim was driving to her shop.

The 33-year-old businesswoman was said to have been waylaid by a gang of four men along the Ughelli Township Stadium axis of the community.

An eyewitness said that on the condition of anonymity that the gunmen shot into the air to scare people as they whisked Okpidi away in their vehicle.

“She was dragged out from her Honda car into a black-tinted GLK Benz by the hoodlums and whisked her away.

“They drove through the Ughelli/Patani Expressway unchallenged,” said the source.

When contacted, Police Public Relation Officer in the state, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident adding that efforts are being made to arrest the fleeing suspects and rescued the victim unhurt.
