The father of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad has spoken about the death of his son.
In a video interview that went viral on Saturday, Joseph Aloba narrated, “I think the injection led to his death. I don’t know the people that took him the hospital, but according to what I heard, he was vomiting after receiving the injection and that was when they decided to take him to the hospital.
“I did not hear anything from the doctor because I was not there. They had returned him home when I met his body. So, I decided that they should bring him to Ikorodu for his burial. My believe is that it’s God that gives and it’s God that takes.
“When he and Naira had issue, I can defend that my son was properly okay because that very day, I entered his house, prayed for him and he told me that he wants to go somewhere.
“On his way coming, one of his friends just came home and said that. He gave me the evidence that he was beaten up in the marlian house.
“When this issue was going on, I wanted to trek to Naira Marley’s house but I was scared of what I will meet there. There was a time Naira Marley called me and when I tried calling him back, it was not possible.
“I heard a lot of things happened to him (Mohbad) but we cannot say it was Naira Marley. He was attacked when he was doing this new album with Zlatan, but the Naira Marley was not with those that came.”

The National Identity Management Commission has launched a self-service solution that allows Nigerians to register for the National Identification Number from the comfort of their house through a smartphone.
The platform was launched at the commemoration of the 5th Identity Day by the Commission and the Ministry of Interior on Saturday in Abuja.
At the launch, the Commission’s Acting Director General/CEO, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, stressed the critical role of identity in the country.
She said, “Identity is more than a mere card or a number; it symbolises our existence, our entitlements, and our place within society. It unlocks access to essential services, social benefits, and pathways to personal and economic growth. It stands as a testament to our individuality while serving as a bridge to our shared humanity.”
She also stressed the need to remain vigilant in safeguarding the integrity and security of identity systems by prioritising the principles of privacy and data protection.
She added, “Above all, we must be inclusive, leaving no one behind as we endeavour to provide identity solutions for all.”
The NIMC boss also said that a proper identity management system can help the country in combating insecurity, and providing support to Nigerians, among other benefits.
On the reason for the self-service solution platform, she said “We are trying to increase the turn-around time of registration. I have heard a lot of complaints from the average Nigerians about going for a registration. It takes them a long time and it also takes them a long time to get feedback after registration has been completed.
“So, what are trying to do is to create an ease of access for you to be able to register from the comfort of your own house. If you don’t have access to a digital tool, you can approach the NIMC office or any of our front-end partners that are in your neighbourhood.”
Speaking with the press after the event, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, said that the Federal Government intends to harmonise all data regarding the identification of Nigerians.
He said, “I want to assure you that very soon, we are working on the modalities of harmonising all identity data that we have, from BVN to the telcos, the NIMC, voters’ identification, and everything. We will be working closely with NIMC because, by law, NIMC is a statutory body that is given the power to harmonise and maintain an identity database for the nation.”
The NIMC self-service enrolment system will be powered by Banksforte Technology Limited, a subsidiary of Banksforte Group, which offers services in project management, construction engineering, ICT, and other areas.
The PUNCH observed that despite the launch on Saturday, the self-service application was not available for download yet on both PlayStore and App Store.
Speaking with the Chief Executive Officer, Barnksforte Technology Limited, Mr Dayo Bankole, said that the application was created in partnership with NIMC and is called NIMC Contactless Biometric Solution.
On when it will be available for download, he said, “that will be determined by the NIMC. But I am sure it will be out as soon as possible.”
The app will save Nigerians, including those in the diaspora from having to visit a NIMC office or partner-agent office for NIN-related issues.
It also allows modifications, such as the change of one’s age, which the Barnksforte CEO said can only be done once on the application.

“The Lagos State Police Command assures that progress of the investigation will, as much as legally and professionally permissible, be shared with the general public accordingly,” Hundeyin added.

Written by AdminThe Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has released a shortlist of lawyers to be considered for the rank of senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
The rank is reserved for Nigerian lawyers who have distinguished themselves in legal practice, either in the advocacy or academic lines.
Among the 69 lawyers shortlisted is, Benedicta Daudu, a professor, who was caught and suspended for examination malpractices.
Daudu, an associate professor of law and head of the department of jurisprudence and international law formerly at the University of Jos, was caught cheating while taking an examination for a master’s degree in research and public policy at the same institution.

In December 2016, the university suspended Daudu while trying to properly investigate the issue.
Daudu’s membership of the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption was immediately suspended.
Although the lecturer instituted a legal action against the university, it was later learnt that Daudu and the UNIJOS management reached a settlement agreement out of court.
She resigned her appointment and was paid off.

A 22-year-old tricycle rider, Auwalu Salisu, has in Kano, returned N15 million that was forgotten in his keke by a passenger who came from Chad to buy goods
The Good Samaritan residing in Yankaba, Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state, promptly returned the misplaced money after hearing about the loss on the radio.
The money, a combination of 10.130 million CFA and ₦2.9 million, amounted to ₦15 million when converted.
Salisu, recounting the incident to a Kano-based broadcaster, Arewa Radio, mentioned that he only realized the passenger had forgotten the money after reaching his home. Upon the discovery, he informed his parents, who advised him to make efforts to find and return the money to its rightful owner.
“I took the man from Badawa to Bata. I went back there after informing my parents. When I reached there, I didn’t meet him and I kept searching.
“I went back home and gave the money to my mother who kept it inside her wardrobe. I was afraid because I was eager to hand over the money back to the owner. I had no intention to touch a penny. it’s not mine, as such prohibited for me,” he said.
While he and his parents were considering the next line of action, Salisu heard an announcement over the radio and a number was given with which to contact the owner.
“I heard the announcement on Arewa Radio, and they gave a number. I called the number and the owner said he would come to our house, but I said no. We should meet at the Radio Station. We met there and I gave him his money,” he recalled.
He said, despite the difficult economic situation at home, he and his parents never thought of touching the money.
“We barely cook two times in a day, even yesterday we couldn’t cook while the money was with us,” his father said.
“I never thought these kinds of boys existed on earth,” the owner of the money said. He was taken aback by the laudable gesture displayed by Salisu, saying he never thought good people like him existed on earth.
The Chadian, who spoke through his brother, Musa Hassan, said he had given up on the money while appreciating the Good Samaritan and his parents for giving him a good upbringing.
“I had given up already, but I got my money back. Alhamdulillah! I really appreciate him and his parents. They are facing difficulties but they didn’t touch even a penny from my money,” the owner said.
At the end, the man donated the sum of N400, 000 to the keke rider as a token of his appreciatio

Popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) party to take up the cause of seeking justice for the untimely demise of Nigerian singer Mohbad.
The 27-year-old ex-Marlian artist’s tragic death has left the nation in shock, and Iyabo Ojo’s impassioned appeal has ignited discussions about the need for a thorough investigation.

Iyabo Ojo, expressed her anguish over the passing of the talented musician.
She emphasized the tears she has shed over the tragedy, underscoring the urgency of addressing the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
The actress went on to question why Mohbad’s pleas seemed to have gone unheard during his lifetime.
In her words;
“Honestly, I will believe and support Apc if Mohbad can get justice. That boy’s soul is crying for justice. Autopsy needed Investigation seriously needed.
“Everyday I read something about him shared a tear No he cried out & no one listened to him. How? n00000000…. It’s not my business should be canceled at this moment, it’s everybodies business. His soul needs to rest #justiceformohbad.”

Controversial investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo has ignited controversy by suggesting that the untimely demise of Nigerian singer Mohbad may be linked to his alleged involvement in a cult and drug abuse.
This startling revelation has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and sparked a demand for an autopsy to uncover the truth.

Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, was a rising star in the Nigerian music scene.
His tragic death, at the age of 24, has left fans and loved ones grieving and searching for answers.
Kemi Olunloyo, no stranger to controversy herself, took to social media to share her startling claims.
According to her, she spoke with a close relative of Mohbad who allegedly confirmed that the late musician had been associated with a cult group and had been abusing drugs.
Olunloyo further claimed that Mohbad’s rapid burial was orchestrated to prevent any autopsy from taking place.
In her words;
“Mohbad like every other artist in the Nigerian music industry was heavily into CULTISM and Drug abuse. Let the journalists who know the truth tell you and stop chasing clout and follow follow. This is the reason his family will never exhume his body and it’s buried under heavy concrete outside a cemetery in a backyard. I just had a phone meeting with one of his relatives a cousin who did not want to be identified.
“There should be no autopsy he said. I feel sorry for any pathologist who attempts to touch and dissect his body. It’s like a huge spiritual python ? sitting inside his body. He was fighting cultists and they fought him back. Nobody helped him, not his fake fans, police, or former Malian music fans. Now they are bringing out videos and documents after he died.
Drugs were his only way to cope. His hypertension became unbearable. Something in his dead body is growing twisting his neck and it could kill the whole family. We had to remove him from this earthly midst and bury him quickly. He did not die months ago. He still performed last weekend.”

Prophet impregnated friend’s wife in Ondo
Written by AdminFounder of the Christ the Helper Foundation Ministry, Prophet Oluwaseun Akinnubi, has allegedly impregnated his friend’s wife, The Nation reports.
The prophet’s friend, Tunbosun gave his sitting room to be used for the church where he held deliverance services for people, not knowing that his wife would also be taken in the process.
Sources said it was in the course of staying with the couple that Prophet Akunnubi impregnated his friend’s wife.
The shocking news was revealed when Tunbosun’s elder brother, Moses Akinnuoye, reported the prophet’s activities at their father’s house at Mobolade Street, Ore, Odigbo local government area, Ondo State.
According to The Nation, Akinnubi was homeless when Tunbosun took him in, but he ended up impregnating his wife.
Tunbosun and his wife had three girls but the prophet told his friend that God ordained that she should be his wife.
“After impregnating the woman, the prophet rented another apartment and moved the woman out of her husband’s house,” a source said.
“To the dismay of neighbours, after mama Precious gave birth, they noticed her husband was going to the prophet’s new place to wash clothes for his wife and the new baby.
“A neighbour called Tubosun and told him that the prophet had taken over his wife, but he was unperturbed. Rather, he kept going to the place to wash his wife’s and the baby’s clothes. He also use to clean the house.
“At that point, we knew the prophet had already hypnotised Tubosun, because his act was awkward. We believe he is no longer in his right frame of mind.”
Another neighbour said: “The prophet’s sudden action is diabolical. Tubosun has not been normal since he accommodated him.
“Some months after he moved in with the couple, people came en masse to worship in the church. We were amazed the man has been collecting a bag of rice each from his members who came for deliverance, while he didn’t proffer solutions to their problems.
“Later, I discovered the so-called G.O. was having an affair with Tubosun’s wife, a mother of three girls. I personally drew his attention to the illicit affairs. But to my surprise, he didn’t believe me.
“Tubosun later found out and confronted Akinnubi. But the pastor replied him that he has been joined together with his wife from heaven.
“After a while, Akinnubi rented another apartment for the woman, while he holds church service everyday at Tubosun’s residence in the morning and night,” he narrated.
Tubosun’s elder brother, Akinnuoye, who confirmed the incident, said he was shocked at the police station when the Prophet laid claim to the baby and the pregnancy.
Akinnuoye said, “Four rooms were burgled in the house and I decided to invite the police since people were complaining that certain persons used to come after others have left for work.
“He was doing church service in my brother’s sitting room. It was at the police station I started hearing different story. The Pastor claim he is the owner of the baby. My brother said he cannot change the will of God.
“The Pastor told my brother that God told him he cannot marry the woman. When my brother declared he heard the voice of God and left the wife for his friend, what can anybody do? I just need the Pastor to move his things away from the House. The Pastor has been granted bail.”

Following the death, some social media users have continued to express dissatisfaction over the alleged ill-treatment Mohbad was subjected to by his former record label, with many calling out the Marlian boss, Naira Marley, on social media platforms.
However, reacting to the news of his former signee’s death via a statement posted on his verified Instagram account late Friday, Naira Marley said the news of the rapper’s death has left a permanent hole in his heart.
According to him, despite the fallout between Marlian Music and Mohbad, the label never wished him any harm, adding that the news of his death has left all of them heartbroken.
Naira Marley also called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The Debt Management Office (DMO) has revealed that Nigeria’s total public debt rose by 75.29 per cent to N87.38 trillion in the second quarter of 2023.
It surpassed the projection of DMO’s Director-General, Patience Oniha, who had predicted the debt could hit N70 trillion, excluding N5 trillion in new borrowings and promissory notes of N2 trillion.
According to the Q2 report covering April to June and obtained on Friday, DMO said the total public debt increased by N37.53 trillion from N49.85 trillion in Q1 2023.
The ways and advances from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and new borrowings contributed to the significant increase.
“Nigeria’s total public debt stock as at June 30, 2023, was N87.38tn ($113.42bn). It comprises the total domestic and external debts of the Federal Government of Nigeria, the thirty-six states, and the Federal Capital Territory.
“The major addition to the Public Debt Stock was the inclusion of the N22.712 trillion securitized FGN’s Ways and Means Advances,” the report reads.
The naira devaluation also influenced the increase, as DMO said: “Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Official Exchange Rate of US$1 to N770.38 as at June 30, 2023, was used in converting External Debt to Naira.”
Recall that the debt office said it was going to add the ways and means advances – which closed 2022 at N22.71 trillion – to the total debt for the period ending June 2023.
“The securitization of the FGN Ways and Means Advances after receipt of requisite approvals, has enabled its inclusion in the Total Public Debt Stock,” DMO said.
It also stated that: “This development, which was welcomed by development partners amongst others, has improved debt transparency and led to the reduction in Debt Service costs associated with the Ways and Means Advances.
“Other additions to the Debt Stock were New Borrowings by the FGN and the subnationals from local and external sources.
“The reforms already introduced by the present administration and those that may emerge from the recommendations of the Fiscal Reform and Tax Policies Committee, are expected to impact debt strategy and improve debt sustainability.”
