AFCON 2021: Super Eagles return to Abuja

Players and officials of Super Eagles of Nigeria will return to the country tonight after their Africa Cup of Nation exit in Cameroon.

Nigeria lost 1-0 to Tunisia in their round of 16 clash in Garoua on Sunday evening.

The team will leave Garoua airport at 7:30pm aboard a chartered Air Peace airline for an hour flight to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Abuja where the players would be departing to their different destinations.

Nigeria ended their 2021 AFCON campaign following a 1-0 lost to Tunisia in the round of 16 in Garoua on Sunday.

Nigeria was the only team with 100 percent record in the group stages, having won all their three matches against Egypt (1-0), Sudan (3-1), Guinea Bissau (2-0) respectively.

But Tunisia, who lost twice in the group stage and only went through as one of the best third-place teams, eliminated Nigeria in the first game of the knockout stage.
