“Olamide is a boss and I respect him so much. He sponsored me without asking for anything in return. Olamide is the only guy in the music industry that showed me love.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has declared the Super Eagles head coach position vacant.
Former handler of the side, Jose Peseiro officially left the post at the end of last month.

Interested coaches, both expatriates and locals are now expected to submit their application to the NFF.
Peseiro guided the Super Eagles to second position at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The NFF also declared the position of the U-17 coach vacant.
Former Super Eagles defender, Nduka Ugbade was last in charge of the team.

Yar’Adua, Jonathan never criticized Obasanjo, PDP better at politics than APC – Buhari’s ex-aide, Ahmad
Admin
A former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was more skillful in approaching politics than the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Ahmad pointed out that former Presidents Musa Yar’Adua and Goodluck Jonathan never criticized ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo because they were from PDP.
He lamented the decision of some officials of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to continuously fault Buhari’s government for the current economic hardship in the country.
Posting on X, Ahmad wrote: “I often wonder why, as a government, we concentrate more on amplifying the faults of the previous administration rather than acknowledging its numerous achievements. The PDP seems to have a more skilful approach to politics than we do in the APC. As Abdul’aziz has pointed out, it’s rare to find instances where President Yar’adua’s (PDP) government criticized President Obasanjo’s (PDP) or where President Jonathan’s (PDP) government faulted President Yar’adua’s (PDP).
“There are numerous accomplishments from the previous administration that we could build upon while discreetly addressing its failures. This approach would bring up unity within the ruling party. President Tinubu requires the full support of his party, not just for the upcoming 2027 elections but also for supporting his policies. We know no matter how good they may look, the opposition will always find a way to rubbish or undermine them just to distract our party from governance.
“Since May 2023, we seem to have provided more ammunition to our opponents rather than strategies to put them on the defensive, which would allow the government to focus more on continuing to deliver its best for the country.
“If we had not been creating room for PDP, how could a member of the party even come here and remind us about their administration? The party spent 16 years during the oil boom without anything tangible to show for it.”
Bandits, Thursday morning, stormed LGEA Primary School, Kuriga (1), Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and kidnapped scores of pupils and teachers.
DAILY POST gathered that the incident happened at about 8:20 am immediately after the morning assembly.
Locals said the Headteacher of the school and some other staff were among the victims.
A former Kaduna senator, Shehu Sani, expressed displeasure on the incident, expressing optimism that they would be free.
‘’It’s tragic to hear that 232 students have just been kidnapped in Kuriga village, Chikun LG in Kaduna State.
“It’s the same village where a school principal, Idris Sufyan was killed and his wife kidnapped over a month ago. However, I’m optimistic their freedom will be secured,’’ he said.
The junior and secondary schools relocated to the school building inside the Kuriga town a few years ago due to insecurity concerns, abandoning their former school building located outside the town.
A resident, Shitu, confirmed the incident, saying most of the pupils ran out of their classes when they sighted the bandits on the school premises.
Another resident, Lawal Kuriga, also said that the abducted victims were marched into the forest.
As of the time of filing this report, there was no official reaction from the state government or the police.
The figure released by the former senator has also not been confirmed by the police.
Muyiwa Adejobi, the force spokesperson made this known in a series of tweets early on Thursday, adding that security operatives also recovered a fabricated AK-47 and some other locally made guns at the site.
The Nigerian police have announced the discovery of an illegal gun factory in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Muyiwa Adejobi, the force spokesperson made this known in a series of tweets early on Thursday, adding that security operatives also recovered a fabricated AK-47 and some other locally made guns at the site.
He said, “Some of the fabricating machines recovered at the gun factory in Jos. We recovered many well fabricated guns at the site. See how perfect the fabricated AK47 is. It's unbelievable.”
Adejobi added that the force would be willing to work with the operators of the site for the sake of safety.
He continued: “All these pistols were locally fabricated in the factory in Jos. The guys are talented. We need to work on them, for our good.”
In February, the Nigerian Army also said that in its determination to rid the troubled North Central region of criminals, troops of Operation Safe Haven under Hakorin Damisa IV busted a rifle fabrication factory, arrested one suspect and recovered several arms and ammunition.
The army said that the troops during clearance operations on rugged mountainous terrain in the state discovered an isolated structure which turned out to be a weapons fabrication factory situated on a high ground in Pakachi village in the Mangu Local Government Area of the state.
“Items recovered from the facility include: - 5 AK 47 Rifles - 4 AK 47 Magazines - 11 Rounds of 7.62mm Ammunition - 5 Rounds of 9mm Ammunition - 21 Dane Guns - 4 Revolver Rifles - 11 Pistols with 5 Magazines - 17 Gun Barrels - 6 Rounds of 0.44 Inch Ammunition - A Carbide Cylinder with Accessories - 3 Saws - 12 Filing Machines - 4 Hammers - 6 Manual Drilling Machines - 2 Electrically Operated Filing Machines - 2 G-Clamps - One Spraying Machine - One Tiger Generator - Assorted Drilling Irons,” the army said.
It stated that the suspect, Mr. Plangji, along with the recovered rifles and other items, were in the custody of the troops for further investigation.
“The successful operation is a testament to the commitment of the troops in collaboration with other security agencies in the fight against illegal arms proliferation and criminal activities within our communities.
“It also underscores the importance of collaborative efforts between security agencies and local communities in safeguarding our nation from threats posed by illicit arms production and trafficking,” the statement added.
Wunmi Aloba, the wife of late musician Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, has served a pre-action notice to her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba.
The pre-action notice demands an apology from Joseph Aloba for defamatory, insulting and libelous social media and newspaper posts and publications about her.
Wunmi Aloba, who served the notice through her lawyers, claimed that her father-in-law lately resorted to defaming her through name-calling and also dragging her image into the mud.
Part of the notice reads:
“…through newspaper campaign of calumny, character assassination, name-calling, defamation of characters against her and use of reckless language to portray her image and personality to gain cheap attention and sympathy from unsuspecting members of the public”.
The letter read:
“We have been consulted, briefed, and our services retained by Mrs. Aloba Cynthia Omowunmi, hereinafter referred to as “Our Client” and at her behest, we write you in respect of the above subject.
“Our Client’s brief reveals that you have recently resorted to a newspaper campaign of calumny, character assassination, name-calling, defamation of characters against her, and use of reckless language to portray the image and personality of our client to gain cheap attention and sympathy from the unsuspecting members of the public.”
“…If, however, you fail, refuse or neglect to hearken to this subtle demand, we will be left with no choice than to commence legal proceedings against you to assert our client’s rights and claim 50 million naira damages in that respect.”
The letter highlighted an interview Mohbad’s father made with Westo Adejumo Adekunle on African television, in which he was quoted as saying he hated his late son’s widow.
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has stated that no sacrifice is too big for him to pay for the success of the state.
He added that he could give up his position to bring peace to Rivers State.
The governor stated this in an interview with AIT on Thursday.
Fubara further stated that there are things he could have done that would have resulted in a “total crisis”. However, his ability to restrain even when he has the power is maturity.
During the interview, Fubara said, “No sacrifice will be too big for me to pay for the success of this administration.
“And the reason is very simple, it’s not political love, it’s not because I want to gain any favour from anybody, my interest and love for our dear state is genuine.
I’m not trying to say I want to be one man who will be there to decide the fate of all but let Rivers State remain.
“My burden was not the issue of all the drama, it’s the millions of Rivers people who had made sacrifices and it looks as if their hopes are being dashed. They were the ones I was worried about. What will be their fate? It’s not about me.
“If leaving this position is what I need or what is needed to bring more peace to the state, I can even tell you people to come and take it. It’s not about me. People should understand that definitely I will go but Rivers State will still remain.
“I am the governor, no matter what it is, there are things I could have done and there would have been a total crisis. But your ability to restrain in the face of crisis even when you have the power to do things is maturity.”
The Presiding Pastor of Livingspring Chapel Int’l, Pastor Femi Emmanuel, encourages his congregation to “japa” if they can.
This was said during one of the church’s services at the Ibadan headquarters.
The pastor, explaining the worrisome state of the country, says the enemies of Nigeria are the MDs of banks. “The MDs of banks are the destroyers of this system.”
Admonishing the church members that if they have the opportunity to leave the country, they should, because the country’s future is dicey.
“This country cannot go on like this, okay? I was talking about those who migrated. I don’t blame those who want to japa. You know, initially, I was saying don’t japa. Do you hear me saying that again?
”Japa if you want to japa, ooo. Because you look at the country and you say, ‘What future?'”
He tells his congregation to tell Asiwaju to restructure Nigeria. “The next thing he should do, tell him, if you know him, is to restructure this country.”
He further said, “Nigeria is a fraud”, one tribe is pressing the whole nation,” referring to the central bank’s motion of moving the operational department to Lagos, and the Northerners are not in support of this.
“One particular tribe is pressing the whole of us. Did you hear what the central bank governor wants to do? Just a department, the operational department of the central bank, to be moved back to Lagos where you have 99% of the headquarters of banks. The North is not in support. Don’t take Abuja back to Lagos.”
Femi mentioned that he knows how governance functions, recalling that he was once the deputy speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly before he went into ministry. “I talk like no other pastor talks because I have seen into governance. I have seen into the church. I know where the problem is in this country.”

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Thursday warned President Bola Tinubu to reduce his trips and seek the face of God concerning his health.
He explained that Tinubu has so much burden on himself, adding that there is still so much to do for the country’s economic stability.
In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele urged Nigerians to pray for the success of the present government and the president.
‘’Nigerians should pray for the government and President Tinubu’s good health so he will be able to do all that is needful. The president is carrying so much; he needs prayers to be sustained.
‘’The president should also reduce his trips; he needs to seek the face of God and pray for his health because there is still so much to do for the country,” he said.
Ayodele also made it known that he doesn’t see any hope yet except the government listens to useful advice.
Primate Ayodele advised the government not to tackle the economic crisis from the aspect of the dollar exchange rate but to look into the nation’s mineral resources to restructure the economy.

Veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, left an indelible mark in the Nigerian movie industry that may be difficult for fans to forget quickly.
Naija News recalls that Mr Ibu died of cardiac arrest at the age of 62 on Saturday.
In this article, Naija News details some controversies surrounding Mr Ibu’s death and his final days before his demise.
1. Embelzement of Donations
During the ill-health of the movie star, many Nigerians and public figures made financial donations, running into millions to care for his ailment.
However, while Mr Ibu was still at the hospital, his wife, Stella Maris, called out the actor’s adopted daughter, Jasmine, for conspiring with his son, Valentine Okafor, to embezzle her husband’s donations.
Stella claimed that Jasmine had refused to allow her access to the fund. In response, Jasmine alleged that Mr Ibu’s wife was requesting money to buy a car and an iPhone.
Days after the social media callout, Jasmine and Valentine were arrested in Lagos for embezzlement of funds meant for Mr Ibu’s treatment. They were later released, and all the charges were withdrawn.
2. Assassination
In 2014, many fans expressed concern for Mr Ibu over his bloated stomach and the actor, in an interview with Daily Trust at the time, revealed that his worker poisoned him.
According to him, though he survived the attack, the residual effect of the toxin has destroyed parts of his digestive system and stomach wall.
3. Illicit Affair With Adopted Daughter
Earlier in 2023, before the health of the movie star deteriorated, his wife, Stella Maris, in a social media post, alleged that Jasmine is not her husband’s adopted daughter but lover.
She accused Jasmine of sleeping with her husband, but she (Jasmine) denied the allegation, stating that her relationship with the thespian has been like that of a daughter and father.
4. Leg Amputated Due To Diabetes
After Mr Ibu’s leg was amputated in 2023, there were claims online that the actor’s health issues were related to diabetes.
However, Mr Ibu’s family debunked the claim, stating that he has been dealing with blood clotting in his leg, attributed to disease in blood vessels.
5. Unhappy marriages
In an interview with PUNCH, the movie star revealed that he had been married five times. Mr Ibu also said he had never been happy in his marriage, adding that his last to Stella Maris had been his worst.
In his words: “This is my final marriage. If this one falls apart, I won’t marry again. This is my fifth and the worst marriage because my wife embraces what is not obtainable. This feels like punishment and not marriage. I doubt if I’m still in the marriage because it seems she has already prepared her mind to leave, and I’m not going to stop her.
” I support her leaving. I begin to breathe erratically each time i see her, and it’s not healthy for me because I’m not ready to die.”
Large Amounts Allocated For Propaganda War Against Peter Obi Ahead Of 2027 Election – Labour Party Alleges
Admin
The Labour Party said it is aware that huge sums of money have been allocated to wage a propaganda war against Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general election.
Naija News reports that the party’s national publicity secretary, Obiora Ifoh, made this statement in Abuja on Wednesday.
The party affirmed that ongoing attacks on its National Chairman, Julius Abure, will not lead their Presidential candidate for the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, to leave the party, cautioning those spreading lies about Abure on social media to stop and seek legal recourse instead.
The party also stated that despite ongoing smear tactics against Abure, there is no pressure on its national leader, Peter Obi, to leave before the 2027 elections.
Ifoh said, “Mr. Obi has restated his willingness to remain in the party knowing that all the attacks at Abure were sponsored and orchestrated by some political opponents in the high places.
“It astonishes us how far our detractors can go in ensuring that the party swims from one ocean of crisis to another in their evil desire to create disharmony between the party and our leaders.
“We are aware that Abure is not the target of these ferocious and malicious missiles. We are also aware that huge sums of money has been mapped out to wage a propaganda war against our leader ahead of the 2027 general election.
“The feat of the Labour Party in the last general election rattled not a few persons and the fear of the future has driven them to begin so early to prepare ahead. Part of the strategy is to make any political platform unviable for Obi to sail with.
“The party is also aware that any Political Party Peter Obi finds himself in as a vehicle for the 2027 presidential election, including the Labour Party, will not be spared by the political hirelings who are already recruited to dismember such a party.
“Let me emphasis here that even Peter Obi has severally pledged loyalty to the Labour Party due to its social democratic ideology which suits his political vision. Peter Obi will not anymore fellowship with any bourgeoisie party. He is a liberator and not a ruler as seen in the other parties.”
The party spokesman addressed allegations of corrupt enrichment against Abure, dismissing them as baseless and emphasizing that the party’s external auditor cleared the party of wrongdoing since 2021.
He highlighted a previous forensic audit in 2017 that implicated the suspended Treasurer for fraud, contrasting Abure’s stance on accountability.
Abure’s modest living situation and property ownership were defended, with a challenge for accusers to prove their claims in court, as the case is already under legal scrutiny.
Additionally, the spokesman asserted that no funds left the Labour Party’s accounts without proper authorization, refuting claims of Abure’s sole involvement in fund mismanagement.
