Coronavirus: Nigeria confirms four new cases as total cases soar to 40

Four new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Nigeria. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed this on its official handle on Monday night. It said three of the new positive cases are in Lagos while Abuja has one. The new confirmed cases bring the total number to 40 in Nigeria.
 

Earlier in the day five new cases of coronavirus in Lagos, Abuja and Edo took the figures to 36, but with the four new cases recorded on Monday evening, it has moved to 40.

So far, nine new cases were recorded on Monday.

According to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on its twitter handle, four new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Nigeria.

The centre said three of the cases were in Lagos and one in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

“Two of these cases are returning travellers. As at 11:00pm on the 23rd of March, there are 40 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. 2 have been discharged with 1 death recorded.
