Daughter of hero of democracy, Hafsat Abiola Costello, has been ecstatic since the declaration of June 12 as Democracy Day by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday evening.

Abiola Castello wrote on her Facebook wall a poem of how her hopes were raised and shattered when the military handed over to civilian in 1999, saying the choice of May 29, which was picked from thin air shattered the labours of recognising June 12 as a Democracy Day.

“I tried to capture my feelings in the (sort of) poem below. Please celebrate with me.”
